Desire of Sense gratification and Opulent Life

Men of small knowledge are very much attached to the flowery words of the Vedas, which recommend various fruitive activities for elevation to heavenly planets, resultant good birth, power, and so forth. Being desirous of sense gratification and opulent life, they say that there is nothing more than this."

Preparation for battle

Being equipoise in happiness and unhappiness, profit and loss, victory and defeat,
Thereafter prepare for battle and in this way you will not incur sinful reaction

Mind

One who restrains the senses of action but whose mind dwells on sense objects certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender."

Rise up and Fight

Either being slain you will attain the heavenly worlds or by gaining victory you will enjoy the Earth, therefore Arjuna confident of success rise up and fight.

Material Nature

"Everyone is forced to act helplessly according to the qualities he has acquired from the modes of material nature; therefore no one can refrain from doing something, not even for a moment."

Birth and Death

SOUL

Weapons cannot Harm the soul, Fire cannot Burn, Water cannot Wet it and Air cannot Dry it up.

Soul changes Bodies

Just as man gives up old worn out garments and accepts new apparels, in the same way the embodied SOUL gives up old worn out bodies verily and accepts new bodies.

Soul never Slays nor is Slain

Those who are seers of the truth have concluded that of the nonexistent [the material body] there is no Survival and of the eternal [the soul] there is no change. This they have concluded by studying the nature of both."

Happiness and Distress

The non permanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Interaction of Senses

The Interaction of the senses and sense objects give "Cold,Heat,Pleasure and Pain".These things are temporary,appearing and disappearing therefore try to "Tolerate" them.
